To The Members of the Society of Petroleum Engineers:

The SPE GlobalCare Insurance Program is an SPE membership benefit available to expatriate members while out of their home country or on assignment.  The Program is also available to SPE members outside of the U.S. and Canada who are citizens of the country where they live and work, provided this does not contradict or violate local insurance laws.  Members must be under age 74 and working at least 30 hours per week to be eligible to apply for coverage.

SPE GlobalCare offers traditional benefits with competitive group rates.  When insured under SPE GlobalCare, SPE members will not have to rely upon individual overseas plans with coverage restrictions, nor on home country plans which may lack the special features and support services of a true worldwide group program.

Special features of SPE GlobalCare Insurance include:

  • Economical group health and dental coverage for members and dependents
  • 24-hour worldwide assistance and emergency medical evacuation
  • Overseas term life insurance and disability income protection
  • Accidental death and dismemberment coverage
  • Coverage for dependents remaining in their home country

This website contains information about the plans including premium rates, applications for insurance, and claims processing.  If you have questions, please direct them to geocare@rutherfoord.com or call 703-813-6500.

Thank you.

 Sincerely,

Chairman and SPE Representative

Committee on Group Insurance
